These terms are an agreement between you and YidList (“YidList”, “we”) for your use of the YidList website. By browsing, creating an account or posting a listing you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use YidList.
What YidList is
YidList is a directory of listings, such as rentals, jobs, items for sale, services and community resources, for people in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Most listings are posted by users. Some are short summaries of listings published on other sites, shown with a link to the original. We are not a party to any deal between users, we don't inspect properties or goods, and we don't verify every listing.
Your account
You must be at least 18 to create an account. Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity on your account. Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
Posting rules
When you post, you confirm that:
- the listing is real, accurate, and something you have the right to offer;
- you own, or have permission to use, every photo and word you upload;
- it doesn't include anyone else's personal information without their consent;
- it complies with the law, including fair-housing laws, employment law and consumer-protection law;
- it isn't spam, a scam, misleading, hateful, harassing or sexually explicit.
Every new or edited listing is reviewed by a person before it appears. We may decline, edit for formatting, expire or remove any listing, and suspend accounts that break these rules. Listings expire after 30 days unless renewed.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, format and distribute it on YidList and in YidList's own promotion of your listing, for as long as it is posted and for a reasonable time after removal for backups and legal records. Photos are resized and stripped of hidden location data before upload.
Contact details
Only the contact methods you choose are shown, only to signed-in visitors, one listing at a time. Don't collect contact details from YidList for marketing, and don't use them for anything other than responding to the listing.
Listings from other sites
Where we summarize a listing from another site, we show only factual details and link to the original, which remains the authoritative source for photos, full descriptions, contact details and availability. We only do this with the source's permission or on another documented lawful basis. Source operators and posters can ask us to remove any such listing at Request removal, and we act within 24 hours.
Automated checks and AI
We use automated tools, including an AI model provided by Google (Gemini), to suggest categories, pull structured details such as bedroom counts from listing text, and flag possible spam or scams for our moderators. These tools only make suggestions; a person makes every publishing and removal decision. See our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Don't scrape, crawl or copy YidList listings or contact details in bulk, circumvent rate limits or access controls, interfere with the site, or impersonate anyone.
Copyright complaints (DMCA)
If you believe content on YidList infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent at hello@yidlist.co or through Request removal, including: (1) your physical or electronic signature; (2) identification of the copyrighted work; (3) the location of the material on YidList; (4) your contact information; (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; and (6) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice with the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
Safety and disclaimers
Meet in safe places, see properties in person, and never send a deposit, gift cards or personal documents to someone you haven't met. YidList is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for dealings between users, and our total liability for any claim is limited to $100.
Arbitration agreement and class-action waiver
Please read this section carefully; it affects your rights. You and YidList agree to resolve any dispute arising out of or relating to YidList or these terms by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek an injunction in court to stop infringement of intellectual property. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this agreement. The arbitration will take place in New York or by video, and the arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could.
Class-action waiver: you and YidList each agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any class or representative proceeding.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these terms by emailing hello@yidlist.co with your name and a statement that you opt out.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, apart from the arbitration agreement, which the Federal Arbitration Act governs. We may update these terms; we'll change the date above and, for material changes, notify account holders by email before they take effect.
